DESPERATELY SEEKING OREGANO! (No, not the herb!)

Does anyone have a current e-mail address or any kind of up-to-date contact info for Oregano?

I just got this weird message on my answer machine from some guy in L.A. called David Willis. He says he's a writer and he got my number because I'm the owner of bmg.net, so I'm guessing he saw Oregano's fics on Dante's Inferno or something.

Anyway, he wants to get in contact with her about "a project". He says he tried e-mailing her but never got a response. He gave me a phone number and I want to pass it on to her, but I haven't spoken to her in over a year and I'm sure I don't have her current e-mail address.

Helpies?

Another Trip Down Memory Lane

It's about that time again, ladies.

You know what time I'm talkin' about. That random time when I find myself on blah-mah-gah.net looking through the quotes and almost crying from an incredible mix of hysterical laughter and sadness that the times I'm remembering seem so far behind us.

I was messing around on Facebook. I signed up for one yonks ago and, like my myspace, I never updated it at all. But tonight I started to for no reason at all, and I wanted to add some quotes. But instead of going with famous quotes, I decided to go in search of quotes from you guys, because who can come up with anything more touching, hilarious or insightful than you guys? No one!

I have tomorrow off of work, and I think I might just spend it gathering another batch of quotes, because they always make me so happy. But for now, let's just go over some old favorites, shall we?

Do not mock my cow!! - Hadar

Screw logic, do your own thing. - Lia

Life without sarcasm is not living at all! - Elise

What came first? The chicken or the egg? - Lia
The egg. Dinosaurs were hatching for thousands of years before the chicken evolved. - Marissa

How patethic am I? Wait don’t answer that… - Jin

Something dripped on me in Language Arts. - Dani

Hi, My name is Julina and I’m an alcoholic. - Julina

If I call you Michelle Branch, will you respond? - Sidney
If you call me Michelle Branch, I won’t know it’s me. And I’ll shoot you. So I think no. - Hadar

I have the reflexes of a slightly obese cat! - Me

Geez, why hasn’t Elise written any OT in two months? It’s awfully inconsiderate of her. - Elise

I am far from a fanfic goddess… more like a fanfic ghoul… or a fanfic gimp… yeah, I’m Gimpy Fanfic… I write with a limp. - Becka

I feel honored to have been Sidney for about 15 seconds there. - Dani

hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words! - Arianna

OMFG! Ali, I took one look at it and was laughing so hard Bluebell started to pee. (That’s my dog, don’t think I’m crazy and name my body parts.) - Dani

Hey, to anyone who doesn’t live in California, our governor can beat up your governor. - Sidney

Woah. There is this enormous fly terrorizing me. Eww.. it’s like as big as my finger. Ack! It’s coming this way. *runs to find fly swatter* - Dani

*squeezes Milo’s cheeks* So cute. And, btw, I meant his facial cheeks. - Becka

I wasn’t nicknamed Miss Verbosity for nothing. - Becka

Pathetic, thy name is Becka! - Becka

Noooo way! I just killed the fly! The fly that has been tormenting me for a month! Who knows if it’s the same fly but I smacked it! - Dani

He’s so Italian I want my tiramisu ON him. - Leila (about Milo. Duh.)

Sanity is overrated. - Elise

Watch out UCONN! It’s Dean! And he’s still growing! - Dani

Brouhaha! It’s so much fun to say. Seriously, just say it outloud: Brouhaha… !! - Elise

I just felt instantly more welcomed here. Although, it might have been the blind worship. - Becka

All hail Meelo VentiMIGlia. - Dani

Would “Der Wienerschnitzel: A Love Story” be an awful title? - Becka

My fic started out as being about cranberry sauce and now I’ve got Rory and Jess headed for a Mormon Church. Someone want to explain my own mind to me? – EFW

Okay, my self esteem just shot through the roof and killed a bird. – Dani

Hi! How is everybody?! *waves like a crack addict* - Leigh

Chris likes to talk in third person. – Stephanie
EFW hates typing out all the letters of EFW, which is why she will start calling herself I/Me again…Now! – EFW
Leigh is afraid of you all, and has somehow gotten sucked into the third-person hell. – Leigh
Ashley is happy other people speak in the third person so she isn’t that big of a freak. – Ash
Third-person-talkage scares me, when its not coming from Elmo. - Christie
Ari would like to thank all you guys for making her laugh instead of screaming or something. – Ari

And to all, I’m cutting the Mormon Church. It was starting to drive me crazy, and crazy EFW is not a fun person to be around. – EFW

“Just knowing people here acknowledge my existence as a lit makes me feel all gushy inside.” – EFW

“I’m spamming… spamming is kind of like farting… it’s kind of embarrassing, and you feel the need to excuse yourself.” – Leigh

While we introduce ourselves to Aza…

“I’m somewhere between psycho and just plain nuts. Most of us lits are…right?” – EFW
“I’m Becka, and unlike the rest of these yahoos, I’m 100% sane. Right, guys?” – Becka
“I’m Dani, the laziest person you’ll ever meet.” - Dani
“I’m Lydia….. and frighteningly enough, I’m one of the least sane people here.” – Lydia

“I don’t think it is Rory. I think it’s some evil thing from a hell dimension wearing Rory’s body.” – Me

“*throws up* Not even Summer has an ‘ew’ powerful enough for that.” – Christie (talking about the Luke/Taylor fic she found)

“What’s a bathtub made out of?” – Christie

“We’re special. (And not in the “special” way, but we’re special.)” – EFW

“I feel like breaking out in song like the girl from Willy Wonka about how she wants the golden eggs NOW…although i would improvise the golden eggs to Naked!Jess.” – Meg

I seriously wanna see Rory beat Lisa with a led pipe… with “Damn it feels good to be a gangsta” playing in the background. - Leigh (about NOGG)

I am using my limited authority as a mod to over rule you all. *evil laugh* - Me

Of course you’re gonna rob the World Air Bank silly, we still need the money, remember? - Jin

A nakedJess thread and all we can talk about is how much we love each other. If that’s not dedication I don’t know what is. - EFW

Hit me? Somebody? Anybody? Please? - Leigh

I’m sorry to report. Chris is dead. She accidently drank a sip of yoo hoo that had been out all night and is now dead. - Chris

I’m about as worldy as an ant. - Kait

Wow, I’m excited that I’m not the only person here with mental issues. - Lydia

ETA: —- soooo excited I know what that means now! – Lydia

Yeah, one thing I learned last night was when you toilet paper your friends truck make sure it is still his. - Kristen

I feel more fulfilled in real life. I feel like I stand taller than everybody else who has an ordinary life, with no great friends that are around 24-7 just by plugging in a modem and opening up a window on a screen. I feel blessed to have that, and blessed to have had people influence my life in such an incredible way. This board has made my life so extraordinary, and I thank everybody who has impacted it. - Dani

Elizabeth has decided that alliteration rocks. - EFW

I did a very mature squeal of joy when I saw my name…. - Lydia

SECURITY: Drop the Milo and put your hands up. - Kait
What are the consequences if I refuse? *runs off with Milo thrown over shoulder* - Leigh

There was a Milo thing…does that make this not spam? - EFW

I remember the first time I saw Jess… *looks dreamily into the air while everyone around me yawns* - Lydia

So…Alexis is like 22ish? And Milo’s 27? That gives me and Andy Roddick hope!! – Christie

So if you die a virgin, and then your corpse has sex with another corpse…Are you still a virgin? – Christie

Me and Jess are going to have frisky corpse sex. And I’m looking forward to it, so I need him to die. – Christie

I’m sick of seeing DenialRory, RunFromYourProblemsRory, It’sEveryoneElse’sFaultRory. I want to see FaceYourMistakesRory. And FaceYourMistakesRory can be yours for only $9.99! She comes complete with her “I’m a slut” wrinkled dress, “I just commited adultery” messy hair, a cell phone with only one number in it: Jess’, and shoes made for walking over to Dean’s, to tell him it’s over and that nothing like this is going to happen again, ever. – SamiJoe

“Whoops.” *reaches right across Milo* “Forgot to adjust the mirror on this side.” I don’t even want to think how much trouble I could get into pretending that my hand ‘missed’ the gear stick. – Me

Introducing EmoJess! Complete with “love me” puppy-dog eyes, leather jacket and stylable Emo hair! Yours for only $12.95!! And he talks. *pushes button on EmoJess* “Come with me!” Call now and we’ll add in two interchangeable books to stick in his back pocket! – Leigh

I used to name [teddy-bear shaped lollipops] when I was little. And then I’d apologize to them while I ate them. – Kait

Good Lord. I officially am Rip Van Winkle. – Oregano

I guess it wouldn’t go over well if I wished my customers a “Happy Naked!Jess day” this morning? – Leigh

What do you mean it sounds like something I’d say? Everything I say is pure and virginal. – Christie

Jess… loooooots of depth… intelligent brain… presumably hung like a horse… I can’t imagine him acting the way he does and NOT being so. Am I allowed to say penis on the board? – Leigh

No penile mentionings?? What am I supposed to do with my life? – Christie

This thread is so NC-17. – Stephanie

Unspam? I’m on an island having sex with my phone. – Christie
I will no longer question your rights to Dead!Jess’…penis. I like being able to say penis. – SamiJoe
You’re jealous ’cause you didn’t get to marry the alien smilie guy and didn’t get a toaster or socks as a wedding gift! Don’t deny it! – Caitlin

The fact remains that you like coming up with dirty meanings to un-dirty things I say. – Ari

I love that we are able to say penis so much. – Meg
Heh. We can say penis. Penis. I’m so immature…but it’s fun. – Tina

I’d rather clean all the bathrooms in Grand Central Station… with my tongue. – Lydia

Put that up your a** and smoke it, ASP! Who the hell needs you?!? – Becka

Jeez. You made me go through all that screaming. I hope you’re horny now. – Christie

If someone loves it as much as I love Jess’s penis…damn… That’s commitment, ladies. – Christie

I love you guys. You’re the best corrupters ever. – Tina

Go being legally drunk, with leggally boughten alcohol! – Danielle

But yes, we all think that Rory is an ignorant slut, and that Dean is a giant ogre… not like Shrek.. Shrek’s a cool ogre. Dean’s just a big hairy nasty.. troll. That’s it! A troll! – Leigh

I have no idea why anyone would ever want to have a point. – SamiJoe

Self, meet PraiseWhore. PraiseWhore, meet self. – Becka

I’ll murder it if it screws up my ellipses. – Ari

My computer’s name is Useless Pile of Silicone n’ Crap… – Lyds

Next thing you know, I’ll be crazy-girl-who-sits-at-the-dump-talking-to-her-toaster. – Kait

*whines* I miss EVERYTHING! 7 Pages! (If I did the math right) I’m beginning to think that after I go to bed all the Lits get together and have a party, like that episode of Growing Pains. Isn’t the girl’s name Krissy in that, too? *pouts* The consipiracy! - Christie

Giddy is the understatement of the Neolithic Age. - Christie

Again, no Penile thread title? Why no Penile thread title? Why, why, oh thread making gods?? - Christie

In my infinite wisdom, I thought I’d remember what I wrote. I don’t. Then I watched Rory and Dean make out and I died a little inside. If I get some inspiration (and time, oh, glorious time!) maybe I’ll continue it. Right now, I have neither. *falls smack on her face* - Sidney

To set the record straight, Becka has three sisters and three brothers. Our parents liked each other a lot. - Sarah (Becka’s sister)

My parents love each other. I know it. They peck. In front of me. Blech. - Meg

You whores!!!! - Lyds

You rock major sockage, and some shoes too! - Hadar

If I met Jess/Milo…uh…there would be some squealing, some fainting…maybe some licking. - EFW

RPGs are cool games where you can be characters and act them out and all that fun shiz. Or you can be so high with laughter and say weird things like “uumpft!” he said. - Emily

I had to write a paper on Jewish history. Jewish history. I am not even Jewish! What the hell is that?! - Meg
Hey now! Don’t you go belittling my people! - Leigh

Its easiser being the ‘Go Team!’friend in stead of ‘He’s Married’friend. - Christie
Yeah, but right now, Rory needs the He’s Married friend. - Sami
No, Rory needs the if-you-keep-this-up-I’m-gonna-bitch-slap-you friend. - EFW

Scrotum! - Christie

I’ve learned so much from you guys. I learned that Dashboard Confessional is really good, and I can get away with saying Penis on a public message board. - Leigh

I think Dean should be tested. A kid his age has no right to be that large. Did you ever hear that saying… or statement that says “Big guys have small….*clears throat*………penis’s.” Yeah….. Just thought we needed to hear the word penis again. - Meg

Oh, hey, look at Becka, isn’t that cute? She’s still writing fanfic as if Rory and Jess might someday get back together. Poor, sad girl. - Becka

Title inspired by Christie, who says that euphemism = penis - Ari

Heya, kids! I hath return’ed home from Jersey. The Bar Mitzvah was tacky, the music was bad, and my meanest aunt looks like Jaba the Hutt. - Leigh

Hee. Y’know what’d be funny? If I died a virgin. The irony! I’m serious! Its like, pervert of all perverts never has sex! - Christie
Just today at the mall I saw a man walking around with a T-shirt saying “No one dies a virgin”. So don’t worry. - Hadar
True. Even Dean got some. - Christie

I was just typing my lab…I had to keep typing ‘wet mount’. How dirty is that? - Christie

Lovin’ Ali like a $2 whore. - Leigh
I feel so special. - Me

My goal is to be a porn star. All I need is a boob job, some fishnets, and a broken hymen. Much easier than going through all that acting work. - Christie
Dude, you are like me! o.O Whenever I’m asked what I wanna be when I grow up, I say stripper. Seriously, I’m very good with poles. And no, no boob job. Big boobs suck. And I can give you my fishnets. - Hadar

I’m really ready to say goodbye to that character. Or rather… not say goodbye. Just look away and point in the general direction of the nearest exit. - Me (about Dean)

On Tuesday when I thought I was about to get fired from my job, I was on the bus home, and I felt like I literally had nothing to lose. So I told myself that if Lestat got on and, by some luck, sat by me, I was going to say: “Hi. I pretty much got fired today. I need someone to cheer me up. So could you just answer one question? Yeah? Great! What’s your opinion on tractors?!?” - Becka

In case anyone was wondering, I’m not going to be around much today. You see, I have to go out and buy an engagement ring so I can ask Against Reason to marry me. - Me
Well in case you were wondering, Against Reason likes Sapphires. - Lydia

I’m making Lee’s will. - Lydia
They’re all waiting for me to die so they can steal my fics. - Leigh
I can’t believe I get D2D and OS! I wasn’t even there to beat people about the head in order to get them! *is honored but doesn’t want Lee to die* - Me

Leigh, I love you. I love RCF. I wanna marry it. Can I marry it? I’ll buy it a pretty ring. And a car so we can (successfully) fool around without bumping into the freakin’ roof! Getting scared by my own brain and leaving now…I need sleep! - EFW

I think I didn’t get enough sleep and kind of spaced out. I answered ONE. And then he yells “stop!” And I’m like…what the hell? - Ari (about her Math PSAT)

I agree. With everything. ‘Cept Bush. - EFW

Can I get drunk from eating lots of grapes? - Lyds
Not unless they’re really old grapes that have been fermented and left to undergo anaerobic respiration, which is a really inefficient way to respirate, by the way… - Sidney

My brain hurts. - Me

I need to work on my telekinesis. - EFW

It’s a “Feel Better Lee” Song

From time to time the world is crappy
Try to remember to be happy
Cause every now and then things are stuck
but soon enough you’ll have your luck
And you’ll smile and shine
and write us some fluff
and you’ll join Lit Chat and stuff
- Lyds

♥

Thank you so much for all the Happy Birthday wishes, flist. *hugs* I know I've been absent lately (and I know that's an understatement), but I think about you guys all the time.

My birthday so far has been pretty average. I haven't even opened my cards and presents yet because I had to go to work this morning and I didn't want to make Brian wake up at 6am so I could open them, and I want to wait until he gets home from work tonight.

But I had a nice Birthday take-out dinner on Saturday night and my amazing friend, Sam, sent me a bunch of awesome gifts that I opened last week. lol She got me Jelly Beans (YUM!), The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide by Douglas Adams (because it's her bible), a journal, an oh-so-pretty Hanson notebook that she made for me from my favorite Hanson pictures, and a Hanson pendant that she also made herself and it's awesome and I love it.

Oh, and Hanson sent me a gift, too.

*freaks out*

Okay, so I don't know that it was intended as a Birthday gift at all, but it arrived today, so I'm gonna pretend it was intentional. lol

I almost freaked out when I looked at the address label on the big priority mail box and saw the words "Walker Hanson, 3CG Records" (for those who don't know, Walker is their dad).
But I managed to control myself until I'd left the apartment manager's office and was in the privacy of my car. Then I called Sam and flipped out.

Inside was a slip of paper that said "Thank you for donating your URL. We really appreciate the support. - Hanson" It wasn't hand written or anything, but I honestly don't give a crap. lol

SO MANY HANSON GOODIES!

They sent me:

- 1 Great Divide T-shirt (http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/37_sm.jpg?1188934010)
- 1 Walk Tour Hoodie (http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/250_sm.jpg?1195665659)
- 1 copy of Middle of Nowhere Acoustic (DVD/CD)
- 1 copy of Live & Electric (CD)
- 1 Travel Mug (http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/116_sm.jpg?1188934010 it says "Hanson Highly Caffeinated Since 1992" lmao. ♥)
- 2 Large 'The Walk' Stickers
- 5 Sheets of the stickers they only give out to fans on the walks to put up all over town as a sign of where they've walked. *squees*
- 3 Take The Walk Bracelety things
- 1 Hanson Patch Collection (http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/65_sm.jpg?1188934010)
- 1 Hanson Key Chain (http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/89_sm.jpg?1188934010)
- 2 sets of Hanson Playing Cards (http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/229_sm.jpg?1188934010 & http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/228_sm.jpg?1188934010)

I am so in love with these guys right now, I can't even stand it. I don't even care if this didn't come from them "personally", if they had no say in it, nothing to do with it at all.

I. Don't. Care.

*loves everything*

If yes, where? Thanks

*flails* *dies*

No, I'm not attending a show because you never come to this side of the damn country! *runs into a wall and dies some more*

I NEED to go to a Hanson show.

Last night they covered "Lets Get it On" and "Oh Darlin". ajlskhdgljhgkaherugha!

But I just know that if I spend the money to fly out and see them at one of their shows this month, then they're gonna come out with a bunch more US dates in a few months that includes Seattle.

But if I don't spend the money to go see them now, they won't come to Seattle and then they'll go tour South America or Europe or Australia or Asia for the rest of the year and then go make another album and then go tour North America except for the west coast
again and I won't see them at all.

I hate them (I don't really).

And I don't wanna go alone anyway. Too many fansons scare the crap outta me. They scream too much and get drunk and get in chick fights and act like 12 year olds and make the rest of us look bad.

And I HATE viruses. I'm like a virus magnet. I just had to remove another one from my laptop. WHY doesn't Norton catch these things. This one has been around for a couple of years, it should definitely be on their list, but I scanned twice and updated my virus definitions and it said my computer was fine.

*kicks the universe*

Today sucks.

Hanson: At The Fillmore (2000) - 1758 Caps

I know. It took me long enough.

'At The Fillmore' isn't my favorite Live DVD from the guys, it's definitely the one I've watched the least amount of times. I just feel like it's lacking something the other live DVDs had. It doesn't have the energy of 'Underneath Acoustic Live' or any backstage stuff like 'Road to Albertane' (I love all of that) and it wasn't as visually captivating as 'Middle of Nowhere Acoustic'.

And Zac looked so bored and miserable half the time! :( I don't know, maybe it was just me, but it seemed like he had these little bursts of enthusiasm every now and again and then he'd go back to looking like he wasn't in to it at all.

But the show does have it's moments. Little things here and there that made me smile. Mostly Tay being a doof and interacting with the crowd. 'In The City' is a great performance. It wasn't one of my favorite songs until I saw it performed on this DVD and then seeing how they threw themselves into it... it just changed how I feel when I hear it, I guess. lol

Anyway! On with the caps...

First off we get a (very) short but sweet introduction. Aside from the 'If Only' and 'This Time Around' music videos, it's the only non-performance footage on the DVD.

You Never Know:

Yay! Happy Zac! As I said before, it's something (I felt) we didn't see much of during this show.

*snicker* I swear, Ike spends half his time on stage looking at Tay. Most of the time his expressions seem to say "Am I doing this right?", "WTF are you talking about?" or "Dude, we're so awesome".

Runaway Run:

At the beginning of the performance, a fan threw water at Tay and splashed him a little in the face. His response: "Welcome to Hanson - the wet Hanson - at the Fillmore." and then "Thank you for that, now I'm not hot." Oh, Taylor, I must disagree with you on that one.

...

Okay, I had to make an animation of it because a still frame doesn't do it justice. lol. I don't know what it is about this moment, but the first time I saw it I think my mouth fell open. And then I watched it about ten times over.

Anyway...

Yeah, Ike. You Chuck Berry. You bad ass.

I swear while I was making these caps he was smiling less... this is weird. lol

Thinking Of You:

Zac beating the crap outta his drums.

*stares*

Ike and Tay gettin' in to it.

Wish That I Was There:

:D I don't think I need to elaborate.

I wish I knew what this look was about. lol.

Either they're not very strong or he is. How does he stay on the stage?! (Well... he doesn't always, but it's usually just 'cos he fell off of it while he was trying to be cool)

Sure About It:

Ike and Tay babble for a while at the beginning of the song about how they're not sure about what it's about and it goes on until Zac interrupts them and says "we're not sure why we're not singin' the song".

Givin' it their all. 'Cos that's what they do best.

Love Song:

I've said it before and I'm probably gonna say it again after this, but HOW CAN ANYONE THINK THIS BOY IS NOT BEAUTIFUL?! LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!!!!!!!

I love how Zac is just watching Tay play piano. I don't blame him. I wish the camera guy would have given us more shots of Tay's hands during this song.

Ike the Acoustic Rock God. ;)

Hand in Hand:

This is another one of those things I've said before, but 'Hand in Hand' was no where near as good on the album as it is live. I never liked it on the album, but I love it live and I know I'm not alone in feeling this way.

Seriously.

Seriously.

If Only:

Tizzy time.

He was born to be on stage. I mean, they all were, but Tay is just so at home there. Even in clips from when they were little, he was like this total pro at the age of 10.

Through the entire show, he kept looking in this exact direction and smiling. I wonder if there was a funny banner or a hot fan somewhere over there? lol (actually, I think they may have had friends up in the balcony. I swear I saw their dad up there in one of the balcony shots)

This Time Around:

Gratuitous Tay Hands Shot.

:D

Hell yeah!

MMMBop:

LMAO.

Guess which part of the chorus he was on when this was snapped?

Magic Carpet Ride:

I loved this cover song (I think their cover songs almost always kick ass). Especially Zac's little "Oooooh Yeah! I like to dream!" at the beginning and "Yes I like to dream!" scream in the middle. :)

I can't even think of anything to say. I like Sweaty Hanson.

The end of the song and the end of the show (almost). Someone threw a ball on stage and Zac kicked it back into the audience (you can see it flying out of the top left hand corner of the cap. lol)

Encore...

In The City:

Definitely one of my favorite bits of the show, just because of the energy they put into it.

Tay spends almost the entire song running back and forth across the stage, holding hands with the crowd and jumping up and down.

Oh, and singing.

How he doesn't collapse from exhaustion at the end of it, I have no clue.

Mic Sharing = ♥

Ike jumps off of the drum riser and lands on the stage. Tay jumps into the pit. And it wasn't intentional.

This Time Around (Acapella):

During the acapella bit, there were slow mo clips from the show, and this shot of Zac just makes me happy.

*blinks* Zac has a huge mouth. I mean, I knew this, but it still surprises me sometimes. lol

GALLERY

Next up: The Walk Acoustic Live

LYDIA!!!!!!!!

I already burned a dvd of FUTYs etc. for you, so I'm just gonna post these two here instead of doing another one. lol

I don't know if you have this one on one of your tapes, but it's of Hanson on SNICK in 1997. It was on youtube last year and then the user went and got their account suspended and I thought the chances of it ever being reposted were slim to none, which was really sad because it cracked me up and it was such a great example of what I loved about these guys (besides their music) when I was 14. lol. But now it's baaaaaack! Yay!

<lj-embed id="18" />

This one is from SXSW a few weeks ago. I wanted to put it on the DVD but I couldn't figure out how to save it off of the website so I'm gonna have to post it instead. :) I love it.

<lj-embed id="19" />

Snagged from Becka

1. Pick 15 of your favorite tv shows.
2. Go to IMDB, and find a quote from each show. (Some didn't have IMDB quotes - so I also used Wikiquote.)
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Will they? Won't they? And then they finally do, and they're happy forever, gimme a break. Nine out of ten of them end because they weren't right for each other to begin with, and half of the ones who get married get divorced anyway, and I'm telling you right now, through all this stuff I have not become a cynic. I haven't. Yes, I do happen to believe that love is mainly about pushing chocolate-covered candies and, y'know, in some cultures, a chicken. You can call me a sucker, I don't care, because I do... believe in it. Bottom line: couples who are truly right for each other wade through the same crap as everybody else, but the big difference is they don't let it take them down. One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship every time. If it's right, and they're real lucky, one of them will say something."</s> Scrubs (airie_fairy)

<s>11. "Our noses grazed.
*hugs*

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post. Luckily, I only saw the guy once today and it was in a room full of people, so I didn't have to deal with him. I know, I know, I suck for putting off doing something about this, but I'm so damn nervous. But if he does it again, I will. (and btw, yes, he does know I'm married)

I have some weird news. I just got an e-mail for a guy who works for Hanson/3CG (their record company). It was about my site, takethewalk.net. At first I thought it was gonna be some kind of copyright issue or something bad. But it turns out they want to buy the domain name from me to use as part of their Walk campaign! I said yes, and that they don't have to buy it, they can just have it. I'm sure they'll be able to do a lot more with it than I have!

<s>The suspicious has-seen-the-bad-side-of-the-net-too-many-times part of me is worried it's a con and it's nothing to do with Hanson at all, just some anti-Hanson asshole messing me around and trying to get me to take the site down for nothing. But the guys e-mail address was an @3cgrecords.com, and he gave me a phone and fax number. Hopefully he is who he says and I'm doing the right thing by handing over the domain name. *shrug* I hope I'm not gonna end up some trusting idiot. Or even more of one than I already am.</s>

ETA

He's legit! :) I sent a PM to one of the forum mods at hanson.net and asked her if she knew anyone she could contact to find out if he worked for 3CG, and she just got back to me and said that he does. So now I can stop worrying that I'm being conned.

I don't mean this. I just need to vent.

DAMN YOU, HANSON! DAMN YOU!

Get out your f-ing US map and take a long hard look. See those states north of California?! Yes, that's right, they still exist! So, if it's not too much trouble, would you please stop completely ignoring them?!

Seriously?! 40+ dates last year and almost 20 this spring and NOT ONE FUCKING SHOW IN WASHINGTON STATE?! Or even Oregon? Seriously?! Are you guys like... wanted for some kind of crime in these states or something? Is there some kind of shrub you're allergic to that can only be found in the Pacific Northwest?

I'm not kidding. According to the tour archive on their site, they haven't played a show in Seattle, WA or Portland, OR since 2003. Did we do something to offend?

*sigh* I am so damn crushed right now. I've been watching clips of their shows on youtube for months, just waiting for these new tour dates to come out because I was so sure there'd be a show I'd be able to go to. I haven't been to one of their shows in almost 10 years now! :(

I hope it's a mistake. Or that they're gonna add a bunch more dates soon.

But with Zac becoming a dad in May and their current dates only running up 'til May 7th...

Damn it.

(please excuse the PMSing)

So, I've decided that when Brian and I buy our own place (hopefully later this year, but who knows), I'm gonna send him away for the weekend to stay with his best friend in California and you guys are ALL invited to sleep on our spare bed/couches/floors in our new house.

The Lit Thread Meet Up shall happen.

Oh, yes.

It shall.

(I'm not drunk. The icon just seemed appropriate for how I imagine the weekend might go. lol)

It's 3:15pm and I feel like I wasted my whole day off. *sigh*

I got up at 10am and thought I'd get so much done today. But then I found out my computer has some kind of crappy spyware or virus or something and I've spent 5 hours trying to get rid of it, running scan after scan with Norton and ZoneAlarm and SpyBot and Ad-Aware and I'm still not sure it's gone.

I don't know how people who create this crap sleep at night. They're fucking assholes.

I know I got tagged for some memes and I will do them, I promise. I'm just... not in a meme mood right now. :(

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at Fool's Banquet...

Yeah, so, I know like... 98% of you either hate or couldn't give a crap about those three blonde brothers who sing MMMBop. But if you like music, you still might find this interesting.

Every year, Hanson host a song writing "retreat" in Oklahoma. It's called "Fool's Banquet", it lasts for about a week and it involves them inviting about a dozen of their singer/song writer buddies to spend the week with them, and every day they break off into groups of 3 and each group writes and records a song. Every day. People who've never met before or who don't usually even perform the same genres of music. And I just think that's frickin' fantastic. lol

Last week was "Fool's Banquet 2008", which included: Hanson, Chris Sligh, Pat McGee, Keaton Simons, Jesse Laz-Hirsch and Kai Kennedy (Locksley), Stephen Kellogg, Zac Maloy, Andrew Ripp, Kate Voegele and Jason f-ing Mraz! *composes self*

(Past invitees include: John Crobsy (Vast), Bleu, Shannon Curfman, Andrew WK, Chris Holmes, Sandra McCraken, Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), Derek Webb, Mike Viola, Stephen Trask, Miles Zuniga (Fastball *squees*) and Eisley).

Because I'm a bad fan, I'm not entirely sure when it all started. I'm seeing mentions going back to '04, but it could've been even before that. I actually wonder if it was partly inspired by their trip to Miles Copeland's "songwriting boot camp" in France, which also looks like it'd be kick ass to be a fly on the wall for. I don't know if these were the only artists there that year, but just from the clips of them jamming and recording in SETB, they worked with Carole King(!), Mark Hudson, Miles Zuniga, Ed Robertson (BNL *squees some more*)... seriously! *head esplodey*

Aaaaaaanyway, I just think it sounds like a great idea and I wish someone would make a documentary of it! I think Chris Sligh mentioned on his blog that it was going to be filmed for something on A&E this summer, but I don't know, maybe I got it mixed up with something else he was doing. That would be AWESOME though.

The whole reason I'm even mentioning any of this now and haven't before, is Chris Sligh's blog post. I think, other than the very few short clips of "Fool's Banquet '06" in the Taking The Walk podcast, his account of his time in Tulsa was the most detailed description anyone has ever given about their time there!

More (much, much) about "Fool's Banquet" (this year and in general), including songs and a piccie under the cut for anyone interested.

Back Row: Keaton Simons, Kai Kennedy, Andrew Ripp, Taylor Hanson, Chris Sligh, Zac Hanson, Jesse Laz-Hirsch, Stephen Kellogg, Pat McGee.
Front Row: Kate Voegele, Jason Mraz, Isaac Hanson.

Talking about making music better, you guys host a songwriting workshop.

Zac: I think that’s the way we should start saying it. Workshop.

Tay: It’s a retreat. It’s more like a retreat.

Ike: It’s like a spa.

Zac: It’s a place where we give people free food and free beer and free studio time.

Tay: And they bring their own ‘other products.’

Zac: …In order that they will make music. It’s something we do every year and we just bring…it’s generally what, 15 people?

Tay: It’s one of the most fun things we do. It came from the inspiration that it’s just hard to get artists together. A lot of your friends become musicians but everybody’s lifestyle is like, “I’m on a train,” or “I’m on a bus.” Everybody’s life is ships in the night.

Zac: “I’m in Europe.” “I’m in Asia.”

Tay: It’s so awesome to get to collaborate with people you respect or you have relationships with but it’s so hard to get it together.

Ike: As small as the music business is, it’s still increasingly large enough that it becomes difficult to keep the community strong. The way that the business evolves is that the managers tend to manage the bands or labels tend to market bands there’s this thing where it’s like, “Oh, you can’t work with that band because it doesn’t fit your image.” Everyone became so image conscious that they forgot that the music was the thing that is important. So what you get is the heavy rock guy and the folk guy and the in between guy together and you write songs and it just so happens that it kind of kicks ass.

Tay: It’s basically five days of big rural space and a major main studio set up and secondary and third room in the house with rehearsal space. We have so much gear it’s like guitars and vintage keyboards and people basically spend the day living in the house together and every day we wake up and we’re like, “Get in pairs of three.”

Zac: “You three, you three, and you three.” Most of the time it’s people that don’t even know each other.

Tay: We’re the ones that know everybody there and people are meeting each other so each day you wake up and record a song. By the end of the day, you recorded a song.

Ike: We actually created some really cool friendships because of it. You know, for us but also an after effect of it is that people who didn’t know each other before have gone on to work with each other after.

Tay: Some good people came to it. Vast is a good one. John Crosby is a great one. Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne.

I know you guys had Eisley there.

Tay: Eisley was there, they were awesome. They’re all amazing but especially Chantelle, who doesn’t do as much singing. She came out of her shell… everybody was like, “Oh my god.”

Zac: That song, it kills me. Her voice is so goodcreepy. In the sense that it’s haunting. Hearing her sing that song, I was just like, “Oh. So awesome!”

Tay: It’s a great combination because John Crobsy from Vast, Zac, and her… the style. Those are the kinds of things that make that cool. Stuff happens and you could never put it in a petri dish and have that come out. By the end of five days, there’s not a lot of sleeping going on and it’s ends up being twenty songs.

Ike: By the end of five days, your voice is trashed.

Zac: And you start writing songs called “Devils Nachos” and things like that. It’s about music, it’s about building a community of artists and that’s something that we feel passionate about—the idea of not being confined into boxes and saying, “For everyone who wants to call us this, we’re going to show you, we just blew your mind and did the exact opposite.” Not just us, but the artists. Music is so much bigger than you’re able to think that we’re going to put a folk artist and a rap artist. Andrew WK and Sandra McCraken…

Tay: Our friend Sandra who’s this amazing country-folk singer and Stephen Trask, well they didn’t actually do one together. But our friend Stephen Trask who wrote, among other things, “Hedwig and the Angry Itch.”

- Source: absolutepunk.net

"Soon after I had started co-writing with various people for various different songs, Hanson invited me to participate in their song writing project called “Fool’s Banquet”. I loved the name right out of the gate, as I had been feeling very foolish about an assortment of absurdities. The Banquet invited me and about 6 other songwriters to their estate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They matched up different people into groups of two or three and each group was to write and record a song in one day. Then the groups would switch and we’d write another song. I loved how intense the focus was - all the lyrics had to be finished, all the instrumentation, and then they had two top-of-the-line studios set up for recording. So by the end of it, there were 17 well recorded brand new songs. I co-wrote on 5 of them. By doing these types of collaborations, a songwriter develops a collection of songs that can be recorded by other performers. This catalogue of course can also be recorded by the writer personally. I enjoyed this experience very much." - Andrew WK

- Source: cornmo.com

"Well, it's about a week, and we bring about fifteen of our friends and people we know, sometimes it's friends of friends, and just different artists, different people who kind of have the same state of mind, of really wanting to build a community of music, and just enjoy what it is we do. You know, we have such a privilege to be musicians and make this our lives, and speak our minds, and have a voice with our opinion and what we think. And I think getting together for this, it's just so enjoyable to just sit down and make music and sometimes write songs you'd never think you'd write. You know, three of the songs on our album ended up being from that get together over the last couple years—on the new album. So for us it's just about building a community of artists, and sometimes the community that really is not what people think it would be based on the boxes." - Zac Hanson

- Source: tays_ex_gf @ hanson.net

"Every year, the Hanson guys bring out several songwriters varying from popular indie artists to established mainstream artists to up and comers. For 5 days, they split the singers up into groups of 2 or 3 and they write songs together. The songs then can go on the artists' records or can be used to pitch directly to film/tv or can be pitched to other artists. It's a very cool concept that happens to work extremely well.

I got to Tulsa on Wednesday night. Because of my schedule I could only work out going for 2 full days of the 6 (they started on Monday). I got picked up by Hanson's assistant Rebecca. We had a nice trip out into "the boonies" as Rebecca referred to it, talking about how she got a ticket driving out there the night before. We finally got to the house/studio and the guys were working on recording the songs they wrote that day. Hanson has a 2 studio recording complex that is part of a ranch-style house. They have room A and room B. Room A is an actual studio, Room B is really part of the house, but they have converted in nicely into a very nice live room.

When I walked in, the studios were in a frenzy because both of their engineers had falled down with the flu. So, no pros recording, and some of the audio setups within Pro Tools are pretty complex, so everyone was doing acoustic demos. The songs that I heard seem to lend themselves to acoustic demos anyway. I walked into studio B where Jason Mraz and Pat McGee were working on recording 2 songs they wrote that day. Jason sat down and played and sang the song in one take. It was amazing. The song was great and Jason sang every freaking note in tune. Amazing. Then Pat sang some bgv's and threw down another guitar part.

Several other songs were recorded, but the first night was a blur. I was just meeting everyone and trying to process everyone's name. Kate Voegel who is an artist on myspace records was there on Wednesday but left Thursday morning bright and early, so my time meeting her was short-lived. People kept on working until about 1am when I finally headed up to my bedroom and got some sleep.

I woke up the next morning about 10am and went down, got some breakfast and started working on a couple of ideas I had on my own (everyone else was either not up yet or eating breakfast. Then they broke us up into groups and I was put with Pat McGee and a guy named Kai Kennedy from a band called Locksley. I'll give more info on everybody later. We got to working and worked through 3-4 different ideas before settling on a Counting Crows-like alt-country song. It took us a long time to perfect it, but it turned out very good. It's called "Wait for Me"...the basic premise is a guy who's going out on the road and he and his woman are struggling in their relationship, so as he leaves to hit the road, he says, "I wouldn't wait for me...I'm done making promises I know I can't keep...I wouldn't wait for me...but for once I'm hoping that you don't agree." It was a nice little lyrical turnaround.

When we finished the song, we headed over to the studio, but someone was already working on their song, so I went over to Studio A where Isaac Hanson, Jason Mraz and a guy named Zac Malloy were recording the song they wrote. It was a song called "The Story of Your Life"...cheesy title (but I don't know that another title would work) but seriously one of the most genius songs I've heard in a long time.

This is a little side note...I've never really bought into the whole idea that certain great songwriters are on higher level than other great songwriters. I think once you reach a certain level as a songwriter, it's tough to be consistently better...you know, you might throw out the occasional "incredible" song - we all do at some point - but it's touch to be consistently better. Well, with Jason Mraz I saw my first instance of a writer being incredibly greater than me on a consistent basis. It's so fluid for him. Not to take away from the guys writing with him because Isaac and Zac are incredible in their own right, but I heard 5 songs that he wrote and all of them were "next level" songs, especially from a lyrical standpoint. Incredible.

Another side note is this: people are stupid who diss the Hansons. Seriously these guys are some of the smartest, savviest, most incredible musicians I've met. They are serious about their craft and they have serious skills. Don't diss Hanson.

Anyway, we laid down our song. Pat played some acoustic guitar and tambourine, Kai played electric and bass and Zac Hanson played drums. And then I sang the song. It ended up really cool.

We all hung out talking and listening to each other's songs...it was this great communal atmosphere of just everyone cheering each other on.

Finally, about 1:30am I went to bed. I again woke up about 10 and ate some breakfast. Apparently several people were up till 4:30 so we didn't get started until about noon. This day, I got to write with Isaac Hanson and Jesse Laz-Hirsch, the lead singer of the band Locksley (Kai was the guitar player for the band). Isaac had taken Jason to the airport and crashed back at his house, so he was a bit late, so Jesse and I started working on a song. It started off with me just playing a wurly and it slowly morphed into a Justin Timberlake-type song. We wrote the song really quickly. By the time Isaac got there, the song was basically complete, as far as form and basic lyric content. So, we headed down to record.

I played a wurly loop and then Isaac went over and recorded a drum loop with live drums. We basically found a couple of measures that worked for the loop and them looped it over and over again. Jesse had a very clear vision of where he wanted the song to go, so he kind of drove the boat on the production side of things. I laid down a guide vocal. After that, we began working on recording the instruments. I wasn't feeling well - I think everyone out there was fighting off the flu - so I took about an hour nap. When I woke up I felt much better and went back down to the studio where the song was almost done. It sounded great! Isaac did some cool guitar stuff and Jesse had layered acoustic and bass and piano on top of the track, as well as some bgv's. To end up, I laid down the final vocal as well as some bgv's. It really turned out cool...just a vibey, jammy track that starts off kind of Timberlake-y but ends up kind of funky pop/rock.

After we finished I again went to check out other guy's stuff. Zac Malloy, Taylor Hanson and Andrew Finn wrote this great song that was somewhere between Gavin DeGraw (it's a rhodes-based song) and Marc Broussard. They worked on that for a long while and it sounded great! In the other studio, Pat was working on the song he wrote with Stephen Kellogg and Keaton Simons. Another great song...very Counting Crows-like. Very cool.

While they were working on that, I went down to one of the writer's room and heard Zac Hanson messing around. I went in and we just jammed for a little bit and then really started writing a song. We took this idea of a train ride being a metaphor for love and wrote this beautiful, hooky song based on the idea. It ended up being my favorite song from the week. We finished the song about 12:45am and waited a while to see if we could record it. Finally at 1:30, I decided that sleep was vital, and Zac said he would get some of the guys to help him record the song the next day." - Chris Sligh

- Source: frommymindtoyoureyes.blogspot.com

Songs:

A lot of songs from "Fool's Banquet 07" have apparently been leaked, but I only know of 5 on youtube and I don't know where to get the others.

Devil's Nachos - http://youtube.com/watch?v=DSyrE-qLV-c (Zac Hanson on Lead Vocals)
You're Enough - http://youtube.com/watch?v=1s5O_cJWvM8 (Zac Hanson on Lead Vocals)
Bad Solution - http://youtube.com/watch?v=0E3dSCa0-qE (Taylor Hanson on Lead Vocals)
Even When You're Gone (Live) - http://youtube.com/watch?v=hKoJwElinQ8 (Zac Hanson on Lead Vocals)
I Can't Wait - http://youtube.com/watch?v=PV8Tj9QUJmE (Taylor Hanson on Lead Vocals)

Also, anyone familiar with any of the artists mentioned? Obviously, I know the big name ones (like Jason, Miles, Carole, Mark, Ed and John, and I'm familiar with Bleu and Locksley and I know of Chris Sligh, even if I don't know anything specific by him), if anyone had any tidbits to share, that'd be appreciated! :)

I made these to post with my caps, but I'm gonna link to the caps post at hanson and these might be against the rules there.

Hopefully some fans will find their way to this post on their own.

Here are some short video clips (yes, short clips, not full performance clips, you want the full length ones, you can find them on the DVD!) of some of my favorite 'Underneath Acoustic Live' moments, just in case any fellow fans haven't seen it/don't own it (buy it!)/want to enjoy it again. Or... you know, in case any non-fans stop by and are willing to actually give it a shot. ;)

These clips are mostly about 1 minute long and less than 10MB.

*** = HIGHLY Recommended! (well, they all are. lol But if you don't have time/space for all of them, I'd definitely recommend you go for these ones. ;))

Strong Enough To Break... Clip
River... Clip
If Only... Clip
Run Away Run... Clip
Rock 'n Roll Razorblade... Clips ***
The Walk... Clip
Teach Your Children... Clip ***
When You're Gone... Clip
With You In Your Dreams... Clip
Underneath... Clip ***
I Will Come To You... Clip
Ain't No Sunshine... Clip
Hand In Hand... Clip
Crazy Beautiful... Clip
Penny & Me... Clip ***
Where's The Love... Clip
Deeper... Clip
You Never Know... Clip ***
MMMBop... Clips
Rip It Up... Clips ***
This Time Around... Clips ***
Behind The Scenes... Clips ***

I'd appreciate it if you didn't post these links or files anywhere else.
3000+ Underneath Acoustic Live (2003) Caps

I never realized it until I started capping it, but this might be my favorite live DVD. There are things I absolutely love from all of them, and all the behind the scenes stuff from "Road To Albertane" is fun, but there are so many moments during this show that I just can't get enough of.

I made some clips (not full performance clips! Short clips) and you can find them here:
http://watcher-junior.livejournal.com/207166.html
If the mods @ hanson are against this, please comment and let me know and I will remove the link from this post.

Anyway... on with the show!

Opening...

This is so not a random picture choice. I chose it because I love his little smile. There's nothing random about that!

Strong Enough To Break...

I love it when they switch it up and play other instruments.

River...

Oh, Ike, you so pretty. Seriously, make Zac loan you his "as I got older, I got better" t-shirt.

If Only...

Eeee! The harmonica! I have no clue what the hell it is about the boys playing the harmonica, but it seems to send girls into a freakin' tizzy! Splainy?

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming for this special announcement...

BOY FANSONS! Careful, don't spook them! It's very rare to see them out in the open like this...

Run Away Run...

Cue "It's Gettin' Hot in Here" by Nelly. (Unfortunately, he only took off his jacket. Darn.)

Rock 'n Roll Razorblade...

He was barely legal at this point. But barely is just legal enough, right Milo? *jumps on Zac*

The Walk...

Zac Solo! Yay! More instrument swapping and Zac smilage. Makes me happy.

Teach Your Children...

I find it hard to choose favorite performances from this DVD, but "Teach Your Children" is definitely top 5. Those Zac/Tay harmonies on the second verse are just... wow. The whole song gives me goosebumps. Seriously. I can't imagine anyone listening to that performance and not admitting Hanson sound incredible.

When You're Gone...

Ahhh! Zac on guitar. No, wait, all 3 Hansons on guitar! Does it get any hotter than that? (sorry, I seem to have a thing for guitar players)

With You In Your Dreams...

Note: I usually hate it when the fans yell things out, but I thought it was hilarious when that girl yelled out "Zac you sexy beast!" (I think that's what she said. It's what I would have said. lol) and everyone laughed. At least they weren't performing at the time, Tay was just talking. And if people waited for Tay to stop talking before they said anything... they'd never get to say anything.

I don't know what to say about this song. I loved it the first time I heard it (almost 11 years ago... wow.) and I still love it now.

Underneath...

Girls, it's tizzy time!

I Will Come To You...

I love this shot for some reason. I also kinda love Taylor's arms. Is that wrong? :\ Seriously, the boy is all limbs!

Ain't No Sunshine...

Okay, I'm sorry, this is an Ike song and I will focus on him in a minute, I swear, but DUDE. Sometimes I stupidly forget just how doable Taylor is and then he goes and does something like this, with the hair and the eyes closed and the snapping fingers and being totally into the music... and I wanna pounce on him all over again. (I swear, my first love is their music, but when I'm looking at these caps and trying to think of something to say, there is no music, there's just hot boys! *cries*)

Another awesome cover. Love it when Ike gets totally lost in performing, 'cos you know he's having a good time and it's always better when they're having a good time.

Hand In Hand...

Ike's so frickin' cute. His reaction to the audience celebrating when he said he got his ex-girlfriend back for cheating on him was adorable.

Ike Solo! I gotta say, I was never big on this song on the This Time Around album, but it totally has an amazing new energy when he performs it live. There are a couple of other Hanson songs that I like but don't love the album version of, but the live version always blows me the hell away.

Crazy Beautiful...

Tay solo! Yay for Crazy Beautiful! It was always one of my favorite songs from Underneath, but it's so different live and acoustic and with just Tay and a piano... it's f-ing incredible. The end is just... *dies*. I can watch that part over and over again. lol

Penny & Me...

Maybe I'm imagining it, but it seemed like they were all so relaxed and happy playing this song.

Where's The Love...

I don't know why, but it still always surprises me how well Where's The Love translates acoustically. It rocks.

Deeper...

After SETB, I'm never able to listen to this song without hearing Tay telling Ike to just pull the pickle out of his booty and sing. Hehe. Oh, how I adore these boys.

Oh my gosh, a second Boy Fanson sighting in one night, and they're even more active than they were before!

You Never Know...

I love this song on the album, but it's even better live. They just get so into it. Especially Zac on the drums (but thats true of a lot of the more rockin' songs). It's amazing his head doesn't fall off from the amount of head banging he does! How anyone could watch them throwing themselves into performing like that and not "shake it", as Tay would say, is crazy, IMO. I can't sit still just watching the damn DVD!

MMMBop...

My favorite part of this performance is always gonna be the... pre-performance. lol When Ike starts playing and then suddenly stops because his guitar needs tuning. And Zac tries to keep the audience entertained by singing "We're tunin', we're tunin', make it funky, make it funky!" (or is it "makin' it funky"? I thought it was, but apparently no one else does. lol Oh well, whatever, it was funny.)

This song also needs to borrow Zac's t-shirt when Ike's done with it.

Rip It Up...

"We're gonna take you back to 1956, a little tune originally done by Little Richard. And on this tune, you gotta swing like it's 1956, too, while you're at it."
Ike, have I told you lately that I love you?

Yet another kick ass cover song, this one is in my top 3 favorite perfomances on this DVD. It's just so very Hanson to me. It's a classic rock n roll song, they get into it, they clearly love performing it, they have a lot of fun, they get the audience into it... those are all things I think Hanson live is all about.

In fact, I'm just gonna do some Rip It Up pic spam.

This Time Around...

Possibly another top 3 performance from Underneath Acoustic Live, simply because I've always loved the song, I love this performance and hearing the audience singing at the end makes my heart happy every damn time I hear it (if you were in the audience that night, thank you!)!

More pic spam and some Tay ass shots, just cos I can...

Ending...

Aw. Zaccy making sure the people in the corner aren't forgotten about. lol

And then giving his drumsticks away to a Boy Fanson in the front row, who will probably forever have a boy crush on him because of it (if he didn't already).

And the bow...

Behind The Scenes...

Pic Spam Alert!

Chip disappearing act.

Tay talking about boobs. (I kid)

I look at this and pretend Tay is totally freaked out by how similar Ike and Zac are and is probably thinking "Dude. We spend way too much time together."

I think that one of the things I always loved most about these guys, aside from the fabulous music, is how much fun they seem to have together. It makes it fun to be a fan.

"The lights are all down, the audience is chanting 'Hanson', and we're going 'Oh no! No ear monitors!'"

"You almost walked on, dude!"

A Boy Fanson actually approaches the camera! This guy was crazy. "Where you at next, Hanson? We're comin' there, too!" Heheee.

Gallery (3000+ caps)

Next up: At The Fillmore

If you read this -- if your eyes are passing over this right now -- please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE-UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

We don't have to know one another well. It can be anything you want. It can be good or bad. The only rule is that IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your journal and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you. (That is, if you're so inclined.)

So... this is kinda silly and pointless. But I was just going through videos on my hard drive and I came across the video I made last year about my summer in NH with Nicki, and it made me want to watch some of the original footage, so I did.

And there was just this one little bit that really got to me tonight for some reason. In a good way. It was from one night/morning (2am) when Nicki was just babbling to the camera, as she liked to do. lol. And I was just sitting in the background and I wouldn't cooperate and talk to the camera or give her a topic to talk about, so she called me a psycho hose beast and I pinched her on the butt.

1. If any of my friends I'd been around my whole life called me names like that, even in fun, it would have hurt. I know it's stupid, but I grew up incredibly sensitive to any form of teasing. My family couldn't even tease me, I would get so upset, I was so insecure. And I guess I never knew if any of my friends actually cared enough that they didn't mean it when they called me names. Which sucks. Everyone should have friends they can trust and truly believe care about them. I didn't. Not until Nicki. She could call me whatever the hell she liked and I'd just laugh or flip her off because I knew she loved me as much as I loved her and she didn't mean any of it. I knew it.
2. I can't think of any of my friends then or now that I would feel comfortable enough with to just lean over and pinch their ass. lol. Keep in mind, at this point in our friendship, I'd known her about 6 months and had only known her in person for 1 month. But it just felt like I'd known her forever.

Anyway, like I said, it's stupid, and I'm not even sure why I'm sharing it. It's gonna sound silly, especially after you watch it and see how random and pointless it is, but everyone should have a friend like this at least once in their lives, even if they friendship doesn't last forever.

</ babble>

<lj-embed id="14" />

98 Questions... (95, actually, because there are 3 missing)

1. First thing you wash in the shower?
Um... my face, I guess. lol

2. What color is your favorite hoodie?
Grey.

3. Favorite coffee?
Caramel Macchiato.

...4 is missing

5. How are you feeling RIGHT now?
Emotionally: Lonely. Physically: Bloated. :p

6. Whats the last letter of your crush’s name?
N.

7. Do you say aim or a-i-m?
Aim. *shrug* Saying A-I-M takes too long and sounds weird. lol

8. Tell me about the last dream you remember having?
Oh man, it's freakin' typical that I'd have to fill this out the day after a weirdo dream. lol. Okay, so I was on my way home from a Hanson concert, but it was like... the middle of the afternoon, not at night. And Taylor Hanson was in the car with me (true story. lol) and he was coming back to my house, only it wasn't my current home it was the house I lived in when I was 14 and it wasn't Tay now, it was Tay from like... 2004. lol And for some reason I asked him if he'd ever been drunk. I think that might have something to do with me watching a youtube video yesterday and one of the commenters saying that Tay was drunk in it. lol Anyway... he came back to my house and met my mom and I remember thinking how he was so much more laid back and easy to talk to than I thought he'd be. Haha. I don't really remember much else. I think we ate some candy. I don't know why. I guess maybe I was craving candy? Yeah... so... that was my weird dream last night.

9. Could you eat your favorite food every day for a month?
Yes, but it probably wouldn't be my favorite food by the end of the month.

10. What are you craving?
Candy! I'm kidding. Um... attention? lol

11. Do you floss?
No. *hangs head in shame* I know I should, but I brush really well and my dentist is always telling me my teeth are in perfect condition and to keep doing what I'm doing, which doesn't include flossing...

12. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
Salad. And Yum (but only raw, not cooked).

15. Would you dance with me to the taco song?
As long as no one is watching, yes. Even though I don't know who you are or what the taco song is.

16. Have you ever counted to 1,000?
I have no idea. I doubt it. I can though! I'm not stupid or anything!

17. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
If it's in a cone, I lick it. If it's in a bowl then I probably bite it... I think.

18. Do you use smileys?
Yup.

20. Have you ever met a celebrity?
No. Probably for the best, I'd only humiliate myself.

21. Do you like cottage cheese?
I've never had it. But for some reason I think I probably wouldn't.

22. What’s the last song you had stuck in your head?
Fading Heart by Hanson. Which bites (not the song! just having it stuck in my head) because I've never heard the full version, just the chorus. So having that going round and round in my head is kinda repetitive.

23. How many countries have you visited?
Four, I think? England, Germany, France, USA. Six if you count Canada and the Netherlands, but I didn't so much visit them as spend a few hours in airports there.

24. Are your parents strict?
No, I don't think so.

25. Would you go sky diving?
Only if the life of someone I loved depended on it.

26. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush?
Only if I could throw food at him. And only if he wasn't allowed to speak.

27. Would you throw potatoes at him?
Haha! I'd throw anything within reach at him.

28. Is there anything sparkly in the room you’re in?
Not that I can see.

... 29? Oh, 29, where are you?

30. Do you rent movies often?
Not much anymore. Although I did just rent season one of Dead Like Me from Netflix.

31. Who sits behind you in your math class?
I haven't had a math class in like... 8 years.

34. Can you count backwards from 74?
Uh... yah.

35. Where are you going to be Saturday night?
Here (at home) probably. Or maybe at a movie, I don't know. I don't think that far ahead most of the time.

36. Brown or white eggs?
I know this is a terrible question, but... what's the difference? lol

37. Do you listen to rap?
Ugh. No.

38. Ever taken a train?
Yes.

39. Experienced the twin towers falling in New York?
I was at home. I remember turning on the news and not being able to... accept what I was seeing. It looked like a scene from one of those action movies like Armageddon or something and my mind just couldn't seem to process that it was real.

41. What day of the week is it?
Monday, monday.

42. What was your lunch?
A turkey and bacon panini with roasted red peppers and some kind of yummy sauce. Mmmmmm.

43. What is your best friend doing tomorrow?
:( I don't have one.

Where's 44?

45. Ever have cream puffs?
Yup.

46. Have you ever seen the Butterfly Effect?
Nope.

47. So, how about them Yankees?
*stares blankly*

50. What is your bus number for school?
I do not understand this question. Seriously though, I never took a bus to school and the buses that did take people to our school were just regular buses or coaches, not the same kind as they have in the USA.

51. Is your hair curly?
Not curly, but very wavy.

52. Last time you cried?
Yesterday.

53. Ever walked into a wall?
Yes! All the damn time. I seem to have a problem judging distances, I'm always turning corners too near to the wall or door frame and bashing my arm. Ouch.

55. Have you ever bought anything from Pac Sun?
Nope.

56. Are you currently wearing socks?
Yes. Plain black ones (they go with my work uniform).

57. Favorite time of the year?
Fall.

59. Are you a generally happy person?
I guess.

60. Are you wearing jeans?
No. I'm slobbing out in my PJ bottoms.

61. The next person you’ll hold hands with?
My hubby, Brian.

62. Do you sleep with the TV on?
No.

63. Have you ever drank alcohol straight from the bottle?
Hell yes! *clears throat* I mean... yes. Maybe.

64. Do you think you’re old?
Sometimes I freak out that I'm gonna be 25 (a quarter of a century old! Gah!) this year and I have no clue what I wanna be or do and I have no kids and I don't even have any clue when I'll be ready to have kids, which is so weird for me, because I always thought I'd be a young mother, and everyone who knew me always assumed I would because they thought I was so ready for it. But now I don't feel ready at all.

65. Are you afraid of the dark?
No.

66. Do you like your life right now?
Some parts of it.

67. When’s the last time you chose a bath over a shower?
I haven't had a bath in years. I used to love baths over showers, but now I hate baths. I don't see the appeal of sitting in your own filthy water while it gradually gets colder and colder.

68. Do you knock on wood?
No. lol. My mom does though.

69. Do you have good vision?
Yes! Better than average, according to my doctor.

70. Is he hot?
Who?

71. Could you ever forgive a cheater?
I don't think anyone can ever know for sure until they're put in that position. I love my husband more than anything, and I can't imagine not being able to forgive him if he cheated, but I guess it depends on if I felt I could ever trust him again.

72. Do you have a job?
Yes. Do you want it?

73. Describe your best friends?
I don't have any "best friends", but my friends are... incredibly sweet and intelligent and witty and passionate and creative and they're all very different and very similar at the same time. And I would be even lonelier than I am if I didn't have them in my life, so I'm very thankful for them, even if I do a shitty job of showing it.

74. What brands are you wearing?
A Hanes T-shirt and undies. I don't think my PJ bottoms really have a brand. :\

75.
